FAQs

Getting started

How do I know if coaching or hypnotherapy is right for me?

If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, lacking confidence or wanting to create positive change in your life, coaching or hypnotherapy may be helpful.

The best way to find out is to book a free discovery session. We can discuss your goals, answer any questions and determine the most appropriate approach for your individual needs.

What happens during the free discovery session?

The free discovery session lasts approximately 30 minutes and can take place online or by telephone.

During the session, we will discuss what you would like help with, your goals and any questions you may have. There is no obligation to book further sessions.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. Most coaching and therapy sessions can be conducted online via video call, allowing you to work with me from the comfort of your own home. This is usually through Zoom.

Coaching

What is transformational coaching?

Transformational coaching is designed to help you gain clarity, build confidence, overcome obstacles and create positive change in your life.

Rather than focusing solely on immediate problems, transformational coaching explores the beliefs, habits and patterns that may be holding you back and helps you develop practical strategies for moving forward.

What kinds of issues can coaching help with?

Coaching can help with:

  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Life transitions and change
  • Goal setting and motivation
  • Purpose and direction
  • Personal development
  • Limiting beliefs and self-doubt

How many coaching sessions will I need?

Every client is different. Some people benefit from a single session, while others choose to work together over a longer period.

Many clients find that a structured programme of sessions provides the greatest opportunity for meaningful and lasting change.

Hypnotherapy

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help create positive change by working with the subconscious mind.

It is a safe and widely used therapeutic approach that can help address unhelpful beliefs, habits, behaviours and emotional patterns.

Will I lose control during hypnosis?

No.

You remain aware of what is happening throughout the session and cannot be made to do anything against your wishes or values.

Most people describe hypnosis as a deeply relaxed and focused state.

Are there any circumstances where hypnotherapy may not be suitable?

Hypnotherapy is generally considered a safe and effective approach for many people. However, there are some situations where it may not be appropriate, or where additional medical or psychological support may be recommended. Hypnotherapy may not be suitable for individuals experiencing certain severe mental health conditions, including active psychosis, untreated schizophrenia or severe personality disorders, unless this forms part of an agreed treatment plan with a suitably qualified healthcare professional. If you have any concerns about your suitability for hypnotherapy, these can be discussed confidentially during your free discovery session so that we can determine the most appropriate and supportive way forward. Where hypnosis is contraindicated, there are still many other therapies that are suitable and can help.

Can everyone be hypnotised?

Most people can experience hypnosis to some degree if they are willing to engage with the process and follow guidance.

Hypnosis is a natural state that many people experience regularly, such as when becoming absorbed in a book, film or daydream.

How many hypnotherapy sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on the issue and the individual.

Some people experience significant benefits after a small number of sessions, while others benefit from a more structured programme of support.

This is something we can discuss during your initial consultation.
